Lost Keys
When I go to Walmart I usually park far away from the entrance. This gives me an opportunity to walk a few more steps and usually it isn’t as crowded as the spaces closer to the store.
I had finished shopping and walked to my car to unload and discovered that I had lost my keys. Frantically I searched my purse over and over, checked my pockets and discovered that they were nowhere to be found.
So I pushed my loaded cart back to the store and went to the checkout line that I had used. The attendant asked if she could help me and I told her that I had lost my keys. She looked around the register and asked the customer that was using it if she had seen any keys.
A gentleman two stations down heard her and said that he had found a set of keys when he entered the store and gave them to the ladies that were cleaning the shopping carts.
Talk about perfect timing! For him to have found the keys, finished his shopping and be in that exact check out station at that exact moment; it was a God thing! A Divine Encounter.
I thanked them and went to speak with the ladies at the entrance. When I asked them about the keys they said they had turned them in to the customer service desk.
Back into the store I went and as I arrived at the customer service desk a worker had just placed signs reading, “Lane Closed” at each register and was leaving for her break.
Again…perfect timing! I asked about the keys and she hadn’t received any, but she said she would check the bin anyway and there they were…. my keys!
Throughout the day I had been racing against the clock and feeling like I would never get all my tasks completed. When I lost my keys I thought it would be another long delay in my plans. What it turned out to be was a few minutes of God reminding me that He sees everything and His timing is always perfect. Rushing around only stressed me out, but remembering that He cares about every detail, even lost keys, helped me to slow down and breathe. Thank you Lord!
