Live Boldly

Lord, I Can Hide No Longer

After three months of hiding her infant son, Jochebed could hide him no longer. She got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch then placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile river. (Exodus 2:3-4)

Isn’t it interesting that the baby ended up in the Nile river after all. Not as Pharaoh intended, but rather how God had orchestrated. The very river that the enemy meant for evil, God used for good as the tiny basket was discovered by none other that Pharaoh’s daughter who had compassion on the babe and adopted him as her own. Only God could accomplish such a plan. The God of grace answered the prayers of Jochebed in Godly fashion.

Perhaps you are at the same place that Jochebed was where you are crying out to God, “Lord, I can hide no longer.” What are you hiding from? A past, the future, a challenge or calling? It’s in that moment of surrender to God, placing your future in His Hands, as Jochebed placed the basket in the river, that you will find your refuge.

God has a much bigger plan than we can imagine and He is waiting for our submission and desire to trust in His ways. Just think of the faith it took for Jochebed to set that basket on the river and trust God’s protection. What do you need to set before God and trust that He will work it out for the best?

Perhaps the same challenge you face will become the way that God will provide the victory.

Be Intentional about laying your cares before God and trusting He knows best.

Praises & Prayers

Father, I’m grateful that Your ways are not our ways and that Your thoughts are higher than ours. You see the whole picture and I pray that we will hide no longer the things that hold us back from completely trusting You. Give us the faith and courage to set our cares at Your feet and trust that You will always do what’s best. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Isaiah 55:9

Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.
