Lessons from Jochebed

Over a year ago when I first wrote Jochebed’s name on the pages of the Daughter of The King manuscript I wondered if there would be enough content to fill an entire month of lessons. To my surprise I have found the study of her life to be one of my favorites. While she is only given a few verses in the bible, the way she lived her life had a tremendous impact.

She trusted God when her circumstances seemed hopeless and her faith was rewarded for it. Through a series of events God’s miraculous work became evident in the story of her life. Over the last month I have become more intentional about doing the same and have been in awe of how God works.

Placing our life issues, our loved ones, our circumstances in a basket on the river, entrusting them to God, may not be easy, but the truth is that by doing so, we are putting them in the very best place possible. Who better to take care of them than he One who knows every detail about them and what the future holds for them.

Jochebed’s life could be summed up in one word……faith. Imagine what would change in our lives if we lived by faith. The peace we would experience. The joy. The victories. We could see the hand of God working in our lives and be in awe of His creative and unique ways.

Be Intentional about living by faith in the God who can be trusting will everything.

Father, I want to thank you for Your word. The lessons and examples are so encouraging. Help me to live a life of faith in You. Help me to surrender all I hold near and dear to You and live in the peace of knowing that they are in the best place possible – Your Hands. I love you Lord. Help me to trust You more.
