Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Is anything too hard for the Lord? – Genesis 18:14
I started a daily bible reading program and although I won’t be finishing it in a year or two, I enjoy the layout of the plan. The reason I won’t finish it quickly is that there is simply too much to discover to rush through it.
Take today’s verse for example, it was part of a 3 chapter assignment and when I read this short little verse, it stopped me in my tracks. After reading it I came up with the same answer that the study notes provided, which was, “Of course not!” But there is so much more in this passage to explore that I’d miss by quickly passing it by just to complete my daily reading assignment. While digging deeper into my Life Application Study Bible it provided some questions that I want to share with you to further engrain this truth and hopefully help you apply it to your own situations.
- Is this day in my life too hard for the Lord?
- Is this habit I’m trying to break too hard for the Lord?
- Is this communication problem I’m having too hard for Him?
What other questions could you insert your specific needs into, asking if they are too hard for the Lord? Asking the question this way reminds us that God is personally involved in our lives and encourages us to ask for His power to help us.
Our God is all-knowing, all-powerful and ever present. He has equipped and empowered us, through the Holy Spirit, to live lives that demonstrate our love for and dependence on Him. He is faithful. Today’s verse is from the story of Abraham and Sarah who had been promised a child. Even though they were well past child-bearing years the promise remained and was fulfilled because nothing is too hard for our God.
