Live Boldly

In Christ, I have Eyes to See

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord.

A text message comes with an urgent request for prayer, and instantly your heart goes out to the person in need as words form on your lips asking God to intervene.  Confidently you approach the throne of God with your petition, hoping for a favorable outcome.

You know the desired response you want to see be it healing, safety, grace or freedom from strongholds, but do you ask God for eyes to see what He sees?  Do you want to see the situation from His perspective or just your own?

In the Bible story of the man born blind, people saw his situation through their own limited understanding.  Jesus set the record straight when He said that it was not due to sin, but so that the works of God would be displayed in his life.

Jesus asked another blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?” and his response was, “Lord, I want to see.”  Do you want to see?  Really see life through spiritual eyes?

In Christ, the Holy Spirit helps you to refocus and not only see how God sees you, but how you see others. The eyes of your heart are what helps you to see and experience God in ways that build your relationship with Him and transforms you as you see and meet the needs of others by reaching out to them with His love.

Spiritual eyes give you the ability to view life in the light of eternity, knowing that your time on earth is but a moment, but it has been given to you with power and purpose. Your light and momentary troubles are achieving for you an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

In Christ, you have eyes to see the beauty and purpose in His glorious plan as it unfolds around you.
