Live Boldly

If He Called You to It; He’ll bring You through It

I read this post the other day and it made me think of so many people.

Your calling is going to crush you.

If you’re called to mend the brokenhearted, you’re going to wrestle with broken-heartedness. If you’re called to prophesy, you’re going to struggle to control your mouth. If you’re called to lay hands, you will battle spiritual viruses. If you are called to preach and to teach the gospel, you will be sifted for the wisdom that anoints your message. If you are called to empower, your self-esteem will be attacked, your successes will be hard fought. Your calling will come with cups, thorns and sifting that are necessary for your mantle to be authentic, humble and powerful. Your crushing won’t be easy because your assignment is not easy. Your oil is not cheap. (Apostolic Encourager)

I thought of the many pastors that I have had the privilege of learning from and remembered all the trials they endured. I thought of the prayer warriors who prayed for the healing of others as they were suffering through their own ailments. I thought of the many who spoke encouraging words of freedom and hope while fighting their own battles and addictions. And I thought of the many who comforted me with their own broken hearts.

Years ago I heard the quote, “Your greatest misery will become your greatest ministry.” I believe that and have seen it first hand with many people. It helps me to remember that God has a plan and purpose and that He has fully equipped each of us to fulfill our calling. His plans are good and His plans are for victory. Nothing is a surprise to Him and He is the One that we can hold on to and who will see us through.

I have been spending more time in His word the last few weeks and I’m amazed at the boldness, the confidence and the assurance that His word is giving me. There are several life changing circumstances happening all around me and I’ve felt an anxiousness in my soul, but being in His word comforts me and reminds me that He is in control.

In Him we have peace. In Him we have guidance. In Him we will have victory. In Him we will never be alone. In Him is right where we’re supposed to be.

My Prayer

Father, I believe that You have a plan and purpose for each and everything that happens in our lives. I pray for my friends and family that are experiencing life changing circumstances. Give them courage, hope and victory as they overcome fear by trusting in You. Let Your peace that surpasses understanding fall on all of us and help us fulfill our purpose. You are a good God. You are my God. I trust in You and Your plan. Help me to comfort others with the comfort I’ve received. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where does my help come from?

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Philippians 4:7

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
