I Trust You
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9
At our Sunday service the pastor gave the congregation the opportunity to come forward and share what they were thankful for. It was a special and encouraging time of hearing how God is working in so many lives. One woman said she was thankful that God trusts her.
That was a unique statement because we often here, “I trust You Lord,” but to hear that He trusts us made me want to know about her story. After services I asked her and found the meaning behind the words.
She is currently in a situation where she and her husband will have to permanently take in their 3, very young, grandchildren and raise them. As you can imagine, she is completely overwhelmed and feels unqualified to take on the responsibility. But a dear friend of hers told her that God trusts her with these precious babies and He has already given her all she will need to do what’s required of her.
Isn’t that incredible! When you think of the many different circumstances that we face, to see them from God’s perspective, makes all the difference in the world. He trusts us with each heartbreak, trial, disappointment and challenge because He already knows that He has equipped us to see them through. He’s not hoping we’ll survive, He knows we will.
Thank you Lord for showing us the way You see things in our lives. Help us to hold tight to You and trust You as much as you trust us.
