I Am The True Vine
Looking around the neighborhood today I noticed the trees are starting to bud and the flowers are beginning to bloom. It’s such a beautiful sight!
I saw a fence that had large old vines covering it and wondered if they would start to turn green soon. Without the leaves you can see everywhere the vines wander and grow. There is definitely some pruning that needs to take place as some of the vines have gone quite wild and set out on their own path.
It’s was a good reminder to look at my own life. How am I growing? Am I staying connected with the One who is The True Vine? Am I producing fruit? Do I need some pruning?
Yes, I need some pruning and I’m grateful for the reminder to remain in Him. I have, like the old vine on the fence, wandered in my own direction lately and I’ve noticed that my life doesn’t seem as vibrant or alive because of it.
Just taking time today to repent and remember where I should be focused has already made a difference. It’s sparked new life in my heart and the feeling of joy knowing that a few weeds of self have been removed has definitely made an improvement.
Be Intentional about remaining in Him
Praises & Prayers
Lord, thank you for Your grace and forgiveness when I turn my own way. Thank you for cutting away things that are not of you and help me to remain in relationship with You. I want to be fruitful for You and I thank you that life is so much better with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Messages from His Word
John 15:1-5
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
