I Am The Good Shepherd

Today’s message is especially touching to me because it is a very special day. It is my son’s 22nd anniversary of when he met Jesus face to face. On this day I can say with all my heart that Jesus is The Good Shepherd.

Years ago the thief came to steal, kill and destroy our family and our faith, but Jesus stopped him in his tracks and replaced it with abundant life in Him.

The bible tells us that when the wolves come a hired hand will abandon the sheep and run away, but the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He stands His ground and makes sure that not one is carried away.

Oh the lengths that He goes to make sure that each and everyone will be returned to God just makes me all the more in love with Him.

My heart smiles when I read, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know my voice.” That moment of complete familiarity when Brock heard Jesus’ voice and knew he was home. Can you just imagine what that must have been like?

Even today I hear His voice telling me that He is right here with me, watching over me, guiding me, correcting me and loving me. I want to know His voice above any other. I want to remember that He knows me and that He will never stop watching over me until that day that I will see Him face to face. Lord Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd.

Be Intentional about knowing Jesus’ voice

Oh Lord, how I love you! Thank you for the many years of comfort and love that You have shown to me and my family. I know Your plans are good and that You are the Good Shepherd, always watching over us. Help me to know You more and to hear Your voice with joy and familiarity. I Love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
