I Am The Gate

We recently built a fence around our home and added a large gate in the front yard. With that gate we can decide who enters and who leaves. The whole fence was built not only for privacy, but for protection for those inside as well as our pets.

Knowing the gate is in place gives me such a feeling of security. The dogs cannot wander off and when my granddaughters are playing inside, I know that they are safe from any strangers that may pass by.

When I think of Jesus as The Gate it gives me an even deeper feeling of security and protection. He is the only way in, the only way for salvation and He stands guard over those who enter.

Because of Him I can live my life knowing that I am surrounded by His watchful eyes and that He only has my best interest in mind. Many times we’ve heard prayers for the hedge of protection to be around us and our loved ones. He is there! He is the gate and nothing enters our lives without His perfect knowledge and permission.

Be Intentional about knowing that Jesus is the security in your life.

Lord, I just want to thank you for the security that You give me. You know every detail of my life, my coming and going and You always keep a watchful eye on me. Thank you for making a way and for being my security. I love you Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
