I Am The Bread of Life
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6:35
In the Old Testament God provided manna for the children of Israel one day at a time. Each day as they trusted in God’s provision, they would gather what was required and if they gathered more than needed, it would rot.
Every day we have the opportunity to see our tasks, our to-do-lists, our relationships and our schedules as daily bread from God. Whatever the day brings we can know with assurance that He has already provided all that we will need to see it through.
God’s provision comes in both material and spiritual ways. Perhaps you need actual food, He will provide. Maybe you need patience and grace, He will provide. God is fully aware of everything that will take place in your life today and has already provided all the will be needed.
Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “give us this day our daily bread,” in Luke 11:3. If you inserted Jesus’ “I Am” title in that passage you would read “Give us this day Jesus, who is our Bread of Life.” Just reading that passage in that way changes your whole mindset on what you are asking for. It goes from praying for our physical needs to praying for the presence of the One who meets all our needs.
How different would your day be if you asked for Jesus to be a part of it? Then trusted in His miraculous provision. Remember, “Everything He gives you to do……….He’s already provided a way to be done.”
Father, I thank you that I have the privilege of asking you into to my day, everyday. You are the Bread of Life, the One who satisfies every need and provides in ways that this world never could. With You Lord, I am filled, renewed and have hope. I Love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
