How Will You Finish?
On one of my sleepless nights I was lead to begin a bible study series called Running the Race in the Last Days, it also had questions for thought about the goals I would be setting for the new year. “How are you finishing this year?” “How do you want to finish the next?” “How’s your heart towards God?” If I’m going to be setting goals for the new year, it would be wise to consult the One who knows what the new year will bring.
The vision board planning kit that I googled, suggested making goals in all areas of your life such as: Spiritual, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, emotional and environmental. Typically I have only set goals in a few areas but I realized that every area is effected by a goal and will require participation in some way to accomplish the goal.
As I began to write down the goals I started to feel a bit overwhelmed with what it would truly take to accomplish each one and that’s when the next step came into play…..motivation.
A vision board is full of whatever will help you stay motivated to work towards your goals. “For a vision board to actually work it needs to be created with intention and purpose. You have to cultivate a positive mindset and put in the work to accomplish the goals you set for yourself.”
The vision board was the icing on the cake of the whole goal setting process. I was able to put my favorite God quotes on paper to encourage me and strengthen me through the challenges that I will face as I set out to reach new areas of learning, better health and deeper relationships with God and others in the year to come.
My 2020 Vision Board
I love when God starts orchestrating things and I start to see them all come together. The desire to make changes, the planner, the vision board with questions and the bible study series all blended together perfectly to provide all I need to set my goals for the new year.
What started out as the usual resolutions has changed drastically to a sincere desire to learn, grow and deepen my relationship with God and other. It will give me opportunities to be open to new adventures and experiences while trusting that wherever God leads, I will be fully equipped and able.
My Prayer
Thank you Lord for Your leading in reviewing the last year and preparing for the next. I’m excited to see where we’ll go together and I know that You will give me the strength and abilities to success. Help me to live with purpose and intention while trusting You completely. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Where does my help come from?
Joshua 1:8-9
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
