He Never

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. – Isaiah 26:3

The Bible tells us that real peace is found in resting in the wisdom of the One who holds all of our, “what-ifs” and “if-onlys” in His loving hands. Real, sturdy, lasting peace doesn’t come from understanding everything about our circumstances, trials and troubles. It is found only in trusting the One who is in complete and competent control of what seems and feels like total chaos.

God knows, He understands and He is never surprised, He is never confused, He never worries or loses a night’s slep, He never walks off the job to take a rest, He never gets so busy with one thing that He neglects another, and He never plays favorites.

We need to remind ourselves over and over again of His wise and loving control, not becasue that will instantly make our lives make sense, but because it will give us rest and peace in those moments that we all face at one time or another – when life doesn’t make any sense. (Dr. Paul David Tripp)

People will tell you that God never gives anyone more than what they can bear. That isn’t true. God does give His children more than they can bear – much more sometimes. But He never intends for us to carry the load on our own; He offers Himself as our burden bearer. (Psalm 68:19)
