He Delights in You
The Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love. Psalm 147:11
The following question was asked in my bible study yesterday. What are some things in your life – blessings from God – that you really enjoy? One of my answers was my granddaughters. I then began to list some of the things about them that bring joy into my life.
- Just being around them
- Listening to them
- The excitement I feel when they understand and learn new things
- Their smiles and laughs
- Their joy at spending time with me
- Their surprise and thankfulness when I spoil them
- Praying for them
- Caring for them
- Letting them know they matter to me and especially to God
- Have a beautiful, deep, and personal relationship with them
As I was thinking about this I heard the Lord say, “I feel the same way about you.”
That moment brought a whole new awareness of God’s love for me and I began to understand that the feelings I have towards my precious granddaughters, God has towards me.
- He wants to be around me
- He listens to what I say
- He is excited when I understand and learn new things
- He delights in seeing a smile on my face and hearing me laugh
- He wants to spend time with me
- He delights in spoiling me
- He prays for me – intercedes for me
- He cares about me
- I matter to Him
- He wants a real, deep, and personal relationship with me.
What an amazing and heartfelt way to start the day! Being reminded that our Lord and Savior delights in you! He delights in the relationship you have with Him. He delights in the way that He created you. He delights in the plan and purpose He has for you. He delights in the work you are doing for His kingdom. He delights in your faithfulness, worship, and trust. He delights in your acceptance of His forgiveness and grace. He delights in you, His precious daughter and He loves you with His unconditional, unending love.
