Hannah’s Prayer – My Rock
Then Hannah prayed. After worshiping the Lord and giving her son to serve Him all the days of his life, her next action was to pray.
“My heart rejoices in the Lord!
The Lord has made me strong.
Now I have an answer for my enemies;
I rejoice because you rescued me.
No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God.”
Hannah was again pouring her heart out to God, but this time she used her voice. She let everyone hear the passion she had for God and the confidence she felt in knowing that God had ultimate control over the events in her life.
She had come to know God as her Lord, her Rescuer and her Rock! She had many reasons to rejoice.
People think of rocks as strong, solid, and unchanging. To call a person a rock means the same thing. That person is someone you can always rely on to help and support you. God is our rock that is strong and solid. He also never changes. When things are shifting around us, we can lean on God for support. When things around us change, we can seek Him for direction because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Do you know God as your Rock? Do you believe that He has ultimate control over the events of your life? Do you believe that He can make you strong?
Pray with the passion that Hannah prayed and experience God in ways that cause you to shout from the roof tops…”there is no Rock like My God!”
Be Intentional about knowing God as your Rock

Praises & Prayers
Father, as I read Hannah’s prayer I can feel the passion that she had when she prayed. It creates such a strong desire in me to know You like she did. Thank you for being My Lord, My Rescuer and My Rock. I know that I can always trust on You, lean into You and rejoice because of You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
