God is in control

True wisdom and real power belong to God;
    from him we learn how to live,
    and also what to live for.

Job 12:13 MSG

If you are feeling a bit uneasy about the current circumstances throughout the world, I would suggest reading Job 12: 13-25 in the Message version of the bible. It is a reminder that God is fully aware of everything that is taking place and that He is in complete and total control.

God is sovereign which means that He is the supreme ruler who possesses ultimate power. He sees all, knows all and in His perfect timing, will bring all things into perfect order.

So rather than feel anxious or fearful at the events that are taking place around us, we can choose to live in complete dependence and trust in God. We can live differently because we know what to live for…Him. He has and will give us everything we need to live an abundant life. We are always surrounded by His presence and have the privilege of listening to His wise counsel and endless wisdom.

The peace that we desire comes from knowing Him more, and we know Him more as we discover His character through the experiences of life that we go through. As today’s passage tells us, we learn how to live and also what to live for by being in a personal relationship with Christ.

Thank you Lord for the confidence, peace and hope that we have because of You.
