From A Place of Victory
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. – Psalm 16:8
Have you ever had one of those days where it feels you have a constant struggle with your attitude? You want to be joyful and happy because you have every reason to be, yet you still feel grouchy and unsettled. That was exactly how I was feeling today and thankfully God had an answer to my prayer for a peaceful spirit. – a paradigm shift.
After I prayed and asked God to help me with my attitude I began reading a devotional that said, “You don’t fight for victory. You fight from victory.” This is a place where you move from wanting -to-have to believing you already do because God will equip you with all you need for doing His will.
His desire is that I would live from a grateful heart and when I live in a grateful mindset there is no room for negativity. Life’s little irritations are nothing compared to the overflow of the abundant life God has already given to us.
Reading those words instantly changed my heart from one of striving to one of receiving. I wanted to do better, be better and God showed me that He has already given me the victory over bad thoughts and attitudes, I just needed to choose to take hold of the victory that has been offered.
In the Old Testament the Israelites experienced several battles that were already won for them. God went before them and cleared the way. Their part was to trust God and step out of the wilderness and into the land of promise.
This battle over my attitude has already be won. God has given me a better view of the situation and I can either choose to remain in the wilderness of negative thoughts or I can step into the promise of peace and gratefulness that God has in store for me.
Today I choose to live life from a place of victory. Thank you Lord.
Father, please forgive me for focusing on the negative. Thank you for reminding me to live from a place of victory over my thoughts and mindsets. Thank you for coming to my rescue and giving me a word of encouragement. I Love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
