Flat Tires
Last week my sister and I decided to play hookie from work and headed out to enjoy the day together. On my way to pick her up my low tire warning began to flash. We stopped at the tire store to get it fixed and were on our way.
About twenty minutes down the road the low tire warning came on again and in frustration we found another tire store and again waited another 30 minutes in the lobby while the tire was repaired. This was not how I anticipated spending the day, but God had other plans.
At the first stop, while waiting, we saw two friends whom we hadn’t seen in a couple of years. We enjoyed catching up with both of them and hearing about all that was going on in their lives. It was definitely a Divine Encounter.
The second stop gave us time to talk with each other about things that were on our minds and I was able to open up about some issues I was struggling with. We would not have talked about those things in the mall or craft store and that time waiting for the tire to be repaired, again became a Divine Encounter.
I’m learning that the detours and delays that come into our lives can have a Divine purpose if we are willing to see them as the opportunities that they are.
Thank you Lord!
