Empowerment

The definition of empowerment is the authority or power given to someone to do something; the process of becoming stronger and more confident.

When God empowers us through His Holy Spirit, He gives us the ability to do whatever it is He wants us to do or requires of us. The bible teaches us about putting on the armor of God and taking our stand against the enemy. You’ll notice that the only weapon mentioned is the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

Wielding that sword is what empowers us and gives us the strength and courage to speak with authority against the enemy. By knowing God’s word we are able to defeat the enemy just as Jesus did when He was tempted. Each time He said, “It is written…” and then would quote God’s word. It completely defeated the enemy and eventually he stopped trying to temp Christ.

The enemy also knows God’s word and loves to twist it with just enough familiarity that we might question it. That is why it’s so important to be in His word, know His word and speak His word. That will help you recognize a counterfeit when it is presented by the enemy.

Knowing God’s word is the best way to equip yourself for battle and when you are in the trenches it will give you the encouragement you need to persevere and remember who you are and who you belong too.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Be Intentional about being empowered with God’s Word

Praises & Prayers

Lord, thank you for Your Word. It is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Knowing that Your Word says You will strengthen me, help me and uphold me gives me such encouragement and I know that I can trust Your promises. Thank you for the empowerment Your Word gives me to go on and know that because of You, I can do anything that You have called me to. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word
