Embrace Your Call

What do those words means to you? Do you know your specific call from God? Do you know the anointing that goes along with your call?

Each and every one of us as believer’s have a call from God. He has placed us in the families, towns, communities, jobs, social circles etc. all with great purpose. In addition to that He has blessed us with everything we will need and makes it available at the exact moment that we will need it.

The trials and experiences that you have endured have been used to refine you and teach you valuable lessons that will be used as you fulfill the call on your life. Even our wrong choices can be used for good if we are willing to learn from them, repent and humbly help others who have done the same things.

I heard the following saying years ago, “Your greatest misery can become your greatest ministry.” When I though of my greatest misery, losing my son to cancer, I wondered how that could be a ministry. Other thoughts came to mind like, “that’s a sad and discouraging ministry.”

Many times we are tempted to look at what others are doing in their walk with God and compare, but this only diminishes in our own minds, the importance of what God has called us to do. That is exactly what I was doing. I wanted a fun ministry or a mission trip ministry. God had something completely different in mind for me.

In sharing Brock’s story and working with the grief ministry at my church, I finally realized that my ministry is a “Hope giver!” I get to share the hope I have with people during the times that they feel there is no hope.

As you embrace the call of God on your life don’t just look at what you have or feel that you don’t have.  Look at the example of the boy with his lunch of 5 small loaves and 2 fishes. The ingredients of the lunch tells us the boy’s family was poor, but he gave what he had to Jesus.

Jesus asked His disciples, “What’s available?” They were stunned with the idea of feeding so many. Immediately their minds went to thoughts of why that was not possible. But when Jesus received the boy’s lunch He blessed it and placed His anointing upon it and it was enough.

Don’t look at what you have or don’t have.  God takes what you have, anoints it and uses it. Embrace your call. Remember…..You are the only one who can fulfill it.

Be Intentional about embracing the call on your life from God.

Praises & Prayers

Lord, I thank you that You have a call and purpose for each and every believer. We don’t have to know it all or have it all figured out. You will give us what we need the moment we need it. Thank you for giving us purpose and I pray we will trust in you and embrace our calls. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
