Live Boldly

Courage

Years ago I sat in my car watching my oldest son walk into the dorms of his college campus on his first day of school. I felt such pride and thought about how brave he was to walk into the unknow with his head held high.

Several years before that I watched as my youngest son walked into the radiation room of a large hospital and prepared to receive a treatment while being bolted to a table to insure that he didn’t move.

Courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

Esther had courage as she boldly walked into the throne room of the king not knowing if she would live or die for her actions. Fortunately he extended the gold scepter that was in his hand and her life was spared.

In each of these situations God was in control, yet each person had to act. We cannot understand how both can be true at the same time, and yet they are. God chooses to work through those willing to act for Him. We should pray as if all depends on God and act as if all depends on us.

Be Intentional about being courageous

Praises & Prayers

Father, thank you for giving us the courage we need to do the things You ask of us. Help us to remember that we have a part to play in Your plan. Yes You are in complete control, but You also invite us to participate. Help us to obey. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
