Blessed are The Peacemakers
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. – Matthew 5:9 God’s desire is that all people be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth and that truth is that there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people. Jesus laid down His life to make peace between God and sinners making Him our Prince of Peace and when we carry that message to others, we are participating in the ministry of reconciliation. This ministry carries on the work of Jesus by bringing reconciliation to broken relationships through sharing…

My Rescuing Knight
I love you, God— you make me strong.God is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight. Psalm 18:1 – MSG Today’s verse made my heart smile the moment I read it. I instantly had a visual picture of a Daughter of The King, in a castle, in the presence of the King who had rescued her and kept her safe. This Psalm was written by King David, the servant of the Lord. He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies. The NIV versions reads: I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock,…

Eyes on You, Lord
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8 The other night my husband was telling me about all the things he had heard throughout the day on the news talk radio stations. You could tell by his demeanor that the constant barage of negativity had taken its toll. He spoke of dread for the future and doubt about our nations present circumstances. It was hard to listen to all the options and I could feel the heaviness and darkness in the messages. In contrast, at church on Sunday a brief video message from Franklin Graham was presented. In that…

Blessed are The Pure in Heart
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. – Matthew 5:8 Remember that moment when you first gave your heart to God and asked Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of your life? How about the forgiveness and overwhelming feeling of relief you felt when your sins were removed further than the east is from the west? And what about the thrill of embarking on a new and beautiful relationship with Jesus that made your heart smile? Those emotions and feelings were the result of a pure heart and are marked by an uncompromising desire to please God in all things. The pure in heart love…

A Heart for the Lost
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 I have had the opportunity to attend Christian concerts, Women of Faith events, and revival type gatherings in the past. Each has made an impact on my life, usually by reigniting a passion to live better and to draw closer to God. But this Look Up Tour event has had a completely different effect on me. It gave me a heart for the lost. So many times you hear people say, “Come Lord Jesus,” and it is…

Worn out for God
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Colossians 4:5 I cannot say enough about the Look Up Tour event that took place last week. So many moments captured my heart and mind. I am in awe of all that God has done, is doing and will accomplish through this experience. Prior to the final evening event I had the opportunity to meet several other counselors and share about all the happenings related to this event. I was told that Will Graham had met with the local college football team and shared the message of salvation with them. Many gave their lives to the Lord. He also attended and…

God is faithful
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 At the Look Up Tour event this last weekend I was so blessed to see people whom I haven’t seen in years. One of those precious people was Janice. I first met her and her husband when I attended Grief Share for the first time many years ago. I love those moments when you see someone and you just know that you know them from somewhere. Then as you begin talking with each other it all comes back to you. Janice and I had the opportunity to re-connect and it was beautiful. She shared with me about her three requests of…

Recognizing the Enemy
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:10 The first step in any battle is recognizing who your enemy is. Who are you fighting and why? It’s so easy in our every day lives to think that our spouse, kids, co-workers or friends are the problem. We often think that they are the reason we lose our tempers, get frustrated and discouraged. If only they would cooperate with our plans, thoughts and ideas, life would be so much easier. But the truth is, the culprit for…
