Can anything?
Can anything separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble, suffering, and hard times, or hunger and nakedness, or danger and death? – Romans 8:35
Just read the updates on social media or watch the evening news and you might wonder where God is in all of this mess. Shootings, natural disaters, war, human trafficing and loss seem to daily make the headlines and catch our attention. It seems that the world has forgotten how to love, when the truth is that we have forgotten who love is.
While we may forget, God never does. The depth of His love is ever present in the cross. It was on the cross that He died for sins of the world. The hatred, the greed, the selfishness, the pain and the sufferring, all placed on Him and in exchange He gave us grace and mercy, neither of which we deserve or can we earn. That’s ultimate, unconditional love.
The bible tells us that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God. No trouble, suffering, hardtimes, hunger, nakedness, danger or death, NOTHING.
That truth gives us peace and encouragement to live in times like the present, with confidence and hope. It gives us the opportunity to share that peace and encouragement with others by leading them to the ONE who makes it all possible.
Knowing that you’re loved is one of the deepest human desires and we have a Savior that paid the ultimate price to demonstrate that love for us and as Easter approaches we are reminded of that love.
When you see signs in the stores that read, “He is Risen!,” let them remind you that you are loved. When you think of Easter, let it be about the grace and love of God rather than just another holiday. Let it remind you that nothing will separate you from His love, not even death. He conquered the grave for us! Praise God! Nothing can separate us from His love.
