Because we love Him

We love because he first loved us. – 1 John 4;19

I was thinking today about why we do the things we do. Sometimes our actions are motivated by the rewards we seek, whether they are tangible, such as money and things of this world, or intangable such as the praise of others and acceptance.

What I’ve been learning, as the Daughter of The King, is that as His Holy Spirit lives in me and guides me, my purpose for doing the things I do is changing. It’s becoming more and more about Him and less about me. I’m learning that my responses and actions should be because I love Him.

It’s in that love for Christ that we are able to love the unloveable, unconditionally. We get to shout for joy because of our Savior. We get to experience peace that transcends understanding. We get to offer the same patience that God grants to us. We get to share the Good News with gentleness and respect and we get to practice self-control because we love and serve the One who is truly in control.

As Daughters of The King our lives are on display for all to see. Will they see the Fruit of The Spirit that is growing within us? Will they experience the love of Christ because of the way we respond to and treated them? Will they learn to love because they were first loved?

• Because we love Him………we can love others
• Because we love Him………we can be joyful in all our circumstances
• Because we love Him………we can experience peace when there seems to be no peace
• Because we love Him………we can show patience because we have received His grace and mercy
• Because we love Him………we can be kind because we have experienced His kindness
• Because we love HIm………we can choose to live a God honoring life
• Because we love Him………we can be faithful to God just as He is always faithful to us
• Because we love Him……….we can live with a gentle spirit that humbly follows Christ
• Because we love Him……….we can live a life controlled by the Holy Sprit that dwells within us

Because we love Him, we are able to live like He lived remembering that love covers a multitude of sins and overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others. – (1 Peter 4:8 AMP)
