Be Intentional
I was asked to share at a women’s retreat later this month and after praying about it I accepted. The theme of the retreat is Fill My Cup.
One of the most exciting things about this is that I get to spend extra time with God preparing. That means there will be more time in His word, more Godly field trips and more life application experiences.
As I began to prepare I was given the words “Be Intentional.” Being intentional about something means to be done on purpose or deliberately. Not only did He want me to be intentional about preparing for this opportunity, but in the months leading up to the conference He showed me we also need to be intentional about filling our cup.
Our cups are not meant to be held out with the hope of others filling them for us. To fill them requires action on our part. For example, how many times have we claimed to be women of faith but rarely live a life requiring faith? That’s where being intentional really begins.
Some of the ways that we can be intentional about filling our cups are by:
- Worship
- Prayer
- Reading His word
- Fellowship
As we fill up on each of these our cup will begin to overflow and that’s where we have the privilege to pour out into others which is what makes our filling complete.
My Prayer
Father, thank you for words of encouragement and opportunities to fill up on You. Help us to become true women of faith and to live lives that reflect our trust and hope in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Where does my help come from?
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
