Are you sure?
Have you ever had an experience where you knew God was calling you to do something and when you answered the call of God, you were excited and energized about the possibility of service and you couldn’t wait to get where you were going or do what you needed to do. But it turned out to be so unlike what you expected.
Sometimes our heart is willing to serve God, but our circumstances cause us to draw back or limit our service and we are often quick to allow those circumstances to define our level of service to God.
If things get hard, we look for a way out or for a way to diminish our dedication to the task. If people don’t respond immediately or in the way we think they should, we look for a new plan. We begin to question God and ask, “Are you sure this is what You want me to do?”
The apostle Paul understood that service to God is always about our faithfulness to God, not the results.
It’s in those acts of faithfulness that we build Christ like character. We learn to trust God, to obey without question and develop the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. God calls us to circumstances where those traits can be developed and used for His good will and purpose.
So when we ask the question, “Are you sure?” we can know for certain that God has a reason and the results of faithfulness will far exceed any doubts or hesitations that we face.
Be Intentional about trusting God’s leading.
Praises & Prayers
Father, please forgive my doubts and hesitations when I face questions about the direction You have for my life. Help me to trust that You are working in the circumstances to refine me and make me more like You. Thank you for always working to bring out the best in me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
