Divine Encounters

A Week of Encounters

This week has been an extraordianary week for Divine Encounters. The first one started off with a client wanting to meet personally about some airline tickets. I was a bit hesitant, but only because it would require me to get moving earlier than I wanted on a Monday morning. It would not be a wear your PJ’s to work kind of day.

While waiting for our appointment I prayed about which devotional I should read. The Lord led me to one of my favoirite sites www.jesusplusnothing.com and I scrolled through the topics. When I read the heading Psalm 40 I was intrigued and began reading. It spoke to the very issues I had encountered over the weekend! Thank you Lord!

But God didn’t stop there. The man I met with ended up sharing about some issues that he had dealt with and was now serving in a ministry in that very area of misery. It just happened to be the same issues I needed to know more about. He stated that he kept feeling an urgency to meet in person and didn’t know why until our conversation. He is a believer and discovered along with me that God had orchestrated the whole thing.

Later in the week at prayer group God again orchestrated time with fellow believers to share and pray about these issues. Then on my run today He graciously helped me remember the words to Psalm 40:1-3 which I replayed over and over in my mind, each time giving me more confidence and assurance of God’s promises.

Thank you Lord for showing up in so many mighty ways.

Psalm 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the Lord;
    he turned to me and heard my cry.
 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
    out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
    and gave me a firm place to stand.
 He put a new song in my mouth,
    a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
    and put their trust in him.
