Divine Encounters,  Live Boldly

A Singing Miracle

One day at a weekly bible study group, a godly woman asked everyone if they would pray for a young mother in the church that had recently been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

She was a single mother with a young son and was in a new relationship with a man who had one daughter. This man had lost his first wife to cancer a few years before and all of them were devastated with the news of her diagnosis.

During the surgery the doctor’s found more than they expected and removed as much as they could. They would have to wait for the lab results to determine if she would need further treatment such as radiation.

If she had to have radiation it would require her being away from her son for several weeks due to the strength of the treatments. She would also have to adjust to all the changes in her body from the removal of her thyroid.

As a group and as a church prayers were made on her behalf and God answered those prayers. No radiation was needed and she began the road to recovery from the surgery.

Last Sunday she was singing with the worship team after only a few short weeks. I was amazed as I watched her singing praises to God, hands lifted high and voice ringing out.

After church I had the opportunity to meet her personally for the first time. We introduced ourselves and I mentioned what a beautiful sight it was to see her singing so soon after her surgery. I mentioned that we had prayed for her in group and to see her today, she was a singing miracle.

She began to cry and said thank you. That is what she needed to hear. She was becoming frustrated at how long it was taking her to recover.

God orchestrated that encounter because I was going to leave through a different doorway, then I changed my mind and at that exact moment she came through the other entrance. A Divine Encounter.

Thank you Lord for your miraculous healing and for providing the words, the place and the moments.
