A Remedy for Discouragement
At the beginning of Hannah’s story she had been discouraged to the point of being physically sick and unable to eat and then in the middle of it she returned home well and happy. What changed?
First she poured her heart out to God holding nothing back. Completely honest about her feelings and the desires of her heart. Next she received encouragement from Eli. Once he saw the truth of her earnest praying, he blessed her. Finally she resolved to leave the problem with God. Her example gives us the remedy for discouragement.
As Godly Women of Influence we have the opportunity to participate in this remedy from both ends. When we experience discouragement we can follow Hannah’s example and tell God how we really feel and leave our problems with Him. Then we can rely upon the support of good friends and counselors.
The other side of this is that we are also called to be the good friends and show love and support to others who are experiencing discouragement. In this way we have the privilege of partnering with God to help others be encouraged in the Lord and find freedom from discouragement.
Be Intentional about encouraging others in the Lord

Praises & Prayers
Father, thank you for showing us the remedy for overcoming discouragement. Thank you for fully knowing and understanding our hearts and for giving us the choice to leave our burdens with You. Thank you also for sending friends to encourage us and help us to be the friend that encourages others. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Psalm 121: 1-2
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?

the Maker of heaven and earth.
