A Ready Mind
The bible says that we are to have a ready mind. That means that we are to have minds that are open to the will of God for us, whatever that may be.
When we are facing God’s will for our lives we can choose to respond negatively or positively.
Negativism means to think about the outcome of situations with a mindset that you are expecting the worst.
Being positive means to think with the mindset that I’m going to ask God and believe for the best; but more than anything I want God’s perfect will.
“If things don’t turn out the way I want them to, I’ll survive, because Jesus lives in Me. It may be hard for awhile, but I trust the Lord. I believe that in the end everything will work out for the best.”
As believers we believe for many things, but beyond them all, we believe in someone. That someone is Jesus. We don’t always know what is going to happen. We just know it will always work for our good.
God wants to be gracious to us, to show mercy and loving kindness to us. So ….Expect it! Expect a miracle in your life! Expect good things. Have a ready mind that knows the Word of God and that holds tightly to the truths and promises that are revealed in it.
My Prayer
Father, thank you for always giving us something to hope in and that hope is YOU LORD JESUS! Your word tells us that You want to be gracious to us and I pray that we will believe that and expect that. Help me to have a ready mind. A mind that is open to Your will for me whatever that may be. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Where does my help come from?
Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
