Live Boldly

A Heart for the Lost

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38

I have had the opportunity to attend Christian concerts, Women of Faith events, and revival type gatherings in the past. Each has made an impact on my life, usually by reigniting a passion to live better and to draw closer to God. But this Look Up Tour event has had a completely different effect on me. It gave me a heart for the lost.

So many times you hear people say, “Come Lord Jesus,” and it is usually from a heart that is tired of all the evil in the world and longs for peace. While I would love to see the Lord personally, I am experiencing a new found desire and passion that none would be lost.

In our prayer group just prior to the event the “Come Lord Jesus” comment was made. Instantly I thought, but wait until after the Look Up Tour, because not only did I have family that would be attending who didn’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, I knew there would be many others giving their lives to Christ at the event.

Daily we see the world events that Jesus spoke about and we can rest assured that everything will take place just as He said. But rather than dwell on those events they should spark an urgency in us to share Jesus more boldly than ever.

God doesn’t want us living in fear of world events nor does He want us to sit back and passively wait for His glorious appearance. The bible tells us that blessed is that servant whom the master finds faithfully, wisely following Him, doing what He’s called them to do when He comes. (Matthew 24:46)

The arena at the Look Up Tour event was filled with people waiting for the Good News. When it was given, many came forward and experienced salvation. The field is ripe, ready for the harvest. We are God’s messengers. We have the privilege of sharing the truth with all who will listen.

What a joy it will be when the Lord does return. What will you be doing in that moment? Will He find you pouring out into others, sharing Him with the world? Seeking the lost? Time is running out and your obedience will make a difference in the lives of others, possibly more than you know.

The next time you hear or say, “Come Lord Jesus,” I pray that it is followed by, “Look who has chosen to know You!”
